Description:

This bold and funky Lincoln Park home was designed for an adventurous family that doesn’t shy away from color or personality. We reimagined the first floor and key bathrooms throughout to reflect their vibrant energy—think dramatic paint contrasts, unexpected textures, and a true mix of playful and polished. From the moment you step into the tiled entryway, it's clear this home is anything but cookie-cutter. A lively living room centers around a vivid blue tiled fireplace, custom mantel, and iconic Eames lounge chair, while a sculptural beaded chandelier in the dining room sets the stage for eclectic gatherings beneath wallpaper-backed shelving.

We had a great experience working with Outline Interiors—they totally got our vision and encouraged us to lean into the bold, colorful style we love. Nothing about this house is boring or cookie cutter, and that’s exactly what we wanted the design to celebrate. From the blue ceramic fireplace surround to the yellow powder room sink to the wild wallpaper in nearly every room, it all feels playful but still elevated. <paragraph break> They thought through every little detail—like blending the outlets into the backsplash and helping us rework our primary bathroom layout so it’s both beautiful and functional. The whole process felt collaborative and low-stress. We always felt like our family’s style and needs were heard. We’re obsessed with how it turned out—it really feels like our home now.

Throughout the home, layers of texture and whimsy bring every space to life. The powder room is a standout moment, featuring bold wallpaper, a yellow concrete sink, and playful green pendant lighting. In the kitchen, coordinating outlet covers blend into a textured tile backsplash, while bold wallpaper and stone pendants add just the right edge. The guest bathroom embraces fun with teal tiles and a compact custom vanity, and the primary bath is a jewel-toned retreat with a reconfigured layout that makes space for a soaking tub, walk-in shower, and eye-catching finishes. This project is a love letter to bold choices and thoughtful functionality—perfect for a family that lives colorfully.
