Description:

Found inside a former bicycle tire factory in the heart of Chicago’s Fulton Market district, this 3,300-square-foot loft was reimagined as a warm, functional family home that honors its industrial bones while embracing a more refined, modern-comfortable aesthetic. The original bachelor-pad layout leaned heavily into concrete and minimalism—but our clients, a vibrant family with young kids, needed something far more livable. With soaring 16-foot ceilings, great natural light, and plenty of architectural charm, the space was ripe for transformation.

Every inch of the home was thoughtfully considered. From the double-entry glass doors that lead into a cozy guest lounge, to the playful powder room wrapped in leafy green wallpaper and a black-painted ceiling, each space tells its own story. The kitchen became a standout with its vibrant blue cabinetry, appliance garage, and dedicated wet bar, while the living and dining areas offer comfy, curated zones for entertaining and family time. In the primary bathroom, a deep-blue tiled nook frames the soaking tub beneath a sloped ceiling—an optical illusion that draws the eye and creates a true spa moment. Meanwhile, the children’s nursery softens the loft’s edges with gentle greens and plush textures, and the multi-use office/fitness room—with its clever dividing wall and hanging boxing bag—reflects the creative energy of the homeowners. Thoughtful storage, bold finishes, and a touch of whimsy make this home as hardworking as it is joyful.
