Description:

This full first-floor renovation in Roscoe Village brought warmth, sophistication, and intentional function to a lively family home. With a transitional modern aesthetic, the design seamlessly blends clean lines with textural richness, maximizing storage and enhancing everyday living. The family room received a fresh focal point with custom millwork flanking the fireplace, topped with grass-cloth wallpaper and a new plaster chimney breast. A once-unused half wall became a hardworking desk and storage bench. In the kitchen, custom cabinetry and a limewashed plaster hood surround complement stone backsplashes and countertop cabinets. A dedicated coffee bar and dual-sided island add both utility and beauty, while a newly carved-out “family zone” with a beverage center tucks neatly into the open layout.

We loved our home but weren’t proud of it anymore, to the point we considered moving. Outline Interiors completely reimagined our first floor and made the process feel surprisingly stress-free. From the fireplace built-ins to the redesigned kitchen and smart storage solutions, every inch now feels intentional and beautiful. They even coordinated construction around our kids’ school break, which made a huge difference for our family. Their weekly updates and responsiveness gave us confidence they had every detail under control. The OI team is the complete package—creative, professional, and meticulous. Every day we still marvel at our home, and it was worth every penny.

The living and dining areas were thoughtfully furnished with custom drapery, layered lighting, and plaid-backed dining chairs for a hint of personality. In the mudroom, every inch is optimized with hidden cabinetry. The powder room, wrapped in textured vinyl wallpaper, is finished with a quartzite floating sink, a glass basin, and organic accents—proof that even small spaces can make a big statement.
