We worked with the client’s contractor Bryan Lee to make this design come to life! Custom cabinetry in our favorite shade of green and white sets the tone for a dramatic, rich space. The old Kitchen had turquoise cabinetry and trimwork everywhere - so moving to a different shade of green was not shocking at all to this client. We used hand-formed subway tile in a rich, glossy white to add subtle texture and sheen to the space, with a simple marbled quartz countertop. Custom wine storage, antique mirror backsplash, and an undercounter wine refrigerator set the tone for a successful Bar area. We discovered that the column next to the Bar was brick covered in plaster, so we just exposed it! That added texture and character brings so much life to this corner. We incorporated open, live-edge shelving to the coffee corner of the Kitchen, allowing our client to style this area with different ceramics, artwork, plants, and other decor. She really has such great style - what a dream!
The adjacent Laundry Room / Pantry carries a lot of the same elements over from the Kitchen. Clean, white custom cabinetry and millwork house a stacked washer / dryer, and allows for additional storage for cleaning supplies. We even had room for a spacious window seat! I’m told the kids love to curl up here after school and that makes me so happy. I’m so jealous of their beautiful Laundry Room (this is a sign that I am officially an adult!)
We tackled this project 100% remotely. Through email, Pinterest, Houzz, Facetime, text, Fedex packages, and solid communication between us, the Clients, and the Contractor, we were able to create the Kitchen of their dreams without incurring costly site visits or other travel expenses. What a blessing modern technology is! I can’t reiterate enough how fun this space was to design with this client and their contractor.
