For established art dealer Sandra Gering, Thomas Juul-Hansen's office was tasked with transforming a traditional and dark apartment on Beekman Place into a bright, gallery-like backdrop to display her collection. Downsizing from her previous townhouse, Laura and TJH needed to create a comfortable living space within small quarters. A custom twin bed made of a fiberglass shell with a soft upholstered interior was commissioned. Crisp white bedding and soft velvet bolster pillows were fabricated to dress the bed for sleeping, as well as serving as additional seating for guests. As Ms. Gering declared: 'This isn't furniture - this is art!'
