We decided the best way to design this room was to create specific purposes for each Nook. One Nook was designated as "The Reading Nook". We lined the wall with shallow, acrylic ledges to store and display the children's books. Adding a comfy bean bag and some floor cushions provides a cozy spot to curl up for story time. The second Nook became "The Dress-up Nook". What child (and some adults) doesn't love putting on a costume and pretending they are Minnie Mouse, or a Chef, or an Astronaut (or all of the above)? Colorful peg hooks on the wall provide an easy storage solution and allows the child to be more involved in keeping their space tidy. A decorative sparkly cardboard chandelier hanging from the ceiling is thrown in for good measure. The third Nook has been coined "The Garage" and is incredibly important to the organization of the space. Having a Nook solely devoted to the storage of toys, bins, puzzles etc has been instrumental in keeping the main space clear for playing, creating art masterpieces, and drawing on the chalkboard wall.
